MODIFICATIONS
Wheels

Godmudders, of Alsip IL, swapped out the stock wheels and rims for a set of American Racing wheels (16.5 inch) and a set of Dunlop Mud Rovers (33x12.5x16.5) - the biggest you can fit on the three-quarter ton without going to a lift kit. I love these wheels!

Cost: about $1,000 for wheels and tires and stainless steel lug nuts.

Paint

To match our Dodge Viper, we wanted this truck to have the same silver striping done to it. Midlothian Dodge arranged for the striping to be done to our truck and we couldn't be happier. We did have the stripes enlarged to be proportionate to the truck. We also removed the "Sport", "Dodge" and "4x4" factory stickers from the body. The stripes are painted on, not decals.

Cost: about $1,100

Exhaust

Oxbo, of Joilet IL, modified the exhaust from the cats back. Switched the huge stock muffler for a performance dual-inlet/dual-outlet muffler (much smaller) and then added a dual exhaust pipes straight out the back. Topped off with chrome tips. Made for a deeper rumble noise, but because it's a V-10 engine it doesn't have the same tone as a V-8.

Cost: about $400, including cost of muffler

Bed Liner

Spray-in bed liner, really the way to go, was done by Carefree Coatings of Moneka, IL. While they offer to color-match the liner to your truck, I went with basic black. I highly recommend doing a spray-in bed liner over the drop-ins.

Cost: about $350, add extra to spray over rails

Step up bars

We originally added the Dodge add-on step-up bars, but when we had the wheels mounted the tires rubbed against the bar at about 80% turn. So, we went back to Godmudders and they ordered us a set of Smitty Built step up bars that did not extend all the way to the wheel wells.

Cost: a couple hundred dollars

Roll bar

Once again it's back to Godmudders, to have a dual/single roll bar mounted in the bed. With the lightbar mount to the top, we're ready to roll!

Cost: about $300 + installation

Light Bar

We didn't like the idea of mounting round or square lights on the top of the truck, since everyone does that, plus we like to be a little different... So we order a lightbar system from Trailblazers! These systems feature 8 forward facing high-powered lights, 2 side mounted lights and 5 rear facing high-powered lights that generate more than 4,200,000 candle watts! Be forewarned, you'll probably need a second battery and a high output alternator (the Dodge has a 140 amp alternator), because this light bar uses about 110 amps when completely lit up!

Cost: about $800 with all hardware (switches, mounting kit, high power option and cover) + installation
